About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Director of Food & Beverage to join the Al Qasr and Dar Al Masyaf team at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort.

Reporting to the General Manager, the main purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership support to ensure the Food & Beverage function achieves its goals and positively contributes to the guest experience and profitability of the hotel. 

Your main duties will include:

  • Developing Food & Beverage strategy, creates exciting guest experiences, concepts and activities to meet and exceed the business objectives.
  • Setting clear KPI goals for all Outlet Managers.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the 5 Year Food & Beverage Plan.
  • Participating in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan, and Sales & Marketing Plans to ensure the Food & Beverage function is adequately represented.
  • Ensuring that each outlet is accounted for separately as an individual profit centre and is managed by an empowered leader, accountable for profitability.
  • Working with respective outlet managers on the annual budget and ensuring accurate forecasting.
  • Monitoring activities and trends of local and international competition and keeping up to date with international trends to ensure competitive advantage.
  • Closely monitoring the performance of all Food & Beverage outlets and service areas and taking proactive measures to drive performance.
  • Ensuring that HACCP and all local regulations are adhered to ensure the highest health, safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Initiating special promotions and activities to generate additional revenue and popular interest.
  • Participating in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed to enhance the image and profitability of Food & Beverage.
  • Actively participating in Jumeirah Food & Beverage activities and sharing best practice.
  • Providing on-going feedback to coach and counsel his / her team to success.
  • About You

    In order to be considered for this role you will possess an internationally recognised management qualification in Hotel or Business Management and have experience in the role of Director of Food & Beverage in a 5 star luxury property and large volume operation.  It is an advantage if you have experience in restaurant refurbishment or development/concept development in a resort or beach property in the Middle East or Asia.

    As well as the above, you should be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills with focus on talent management and succession planning, creativity and innovation in food and beverage concepts and operations, and demonstrable achievements in improving customer satisfaction and profitability.

    You should have experience of working with and managing multicultural teams, have strong commercial acumen, a good command of the English language (spoken and written) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
