Key Responsibilities:

  •  Have a brief meeting with the Duty Manager
  •  Ensure all working staff are in full uniform and on time for their shift
  •  Distribute the daily duties among other members of staff
  •  Assist in/or monitor the set up of the restaurant
  •  Complete the stock count (see the stock list)
  •  Ensure all pre shift duties are completed to Hotel standards
  •  Check the blocking sheet to identify all regulars and VIP customers
  •  Attend briefing with managers
  •  Check the chefs reports
  •  Place the copies of section plans into the section
  •  Ensure that all staff members are dressed and groomed to Hotel standard
  • Assist the manager on duty with his efforts to enforce service standards and order of service
  • Assists the manager on duty with return time
  • Welcome guests on arrival and bid a friendly farewell on departure
  • Ensure that all the necessary stock is being replenished during the shift
  • Offer support to new recruits on job training
  • Observe guests during their meal and make sure they feel that they are satisfied with their experience. Inform manager on duty to take prompt action if  you feel that guests are not satisfied

  •  Ensure that all areas are kept clean to the highest standards throughout the shift
  •  Ensure all staff members of floor staff take their breaks within their allotted time
  •  When possible, assist guests to migrate to the bar and transfer their bills correctly
  •  Ensure hand over of the sections are done properly so that the guests will have a flawless service without interruption of any kind
  •   Assist the managers to maintain all Hotel standards until closing
  •   Distribute all the closing duties and make sure that they are completed on time
  •   Help the manager with cashing up or do the cashing up yourself if requested
  •   Record daily breakages and to help to minimise breakages by enforcing  the house rules
  •   Assist managers in organising and carrying out the service training
  •   Give constant feedback to managers regarding commis and waiters progress
  •   Ensure that all staff are undertaking their responsibilities  to the best of  their    ability
  •  Attend all management and organization meetings at the request of the managers


  • Preferably with a diploma/degree in hospitality
  • With relevant experience in a 4* or 5* hotel reservations
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficient
  • Positive and engaging to implement required standards
  • Good organizational & administration skills
  • Strong leadership skills
