Develop and implement sales and marketing
strategies for the hotels to ensure revenue and room night sales are achieved,
sales and marketing strategies are set, tactical plans are created and
implemented and results are monitored and achieved.

  • CLUSTER ROLE



    This position will be in charge of two
    properties: Crowne Plaza Doha – The Business Park and Holiday Inn Doha - The
    Business Park. The upcoming property, Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park, is
    scheduled to be open in 2017, therefore all pre-opening Sales & Marketing
    activities for this hotel will be responsibility of this role. Cluster title
    will be awarded closer to the opening of Holiday Inn Doha – The Business Park.

    Duties and Responsibilities




    FINANCIAL RETURNS:

    ·          Achieve budgeted revenues and
    personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability.  Participate in the preparation of the annual
    departmental operating budget, the hotels marketing plan and business plan, and
    financial plans.

    ·          Create and implement sales
    plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates,
    increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.

    ·          Review monthly reports and
    sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends,
    coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor
    performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.

    ·          Create and develop special events
    and sales blitzes to showcase the hotels to potential clients.  Attend trade shows and major market events
    locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales opportunities
    for the hotels.

     

    people:

    ·          Direct day-to-day activities,
    plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for the
    team members.  Provide mentoring,
    coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance
    and recognize good performance.

    ·          Educate, train and motivate sales
    and marketing teams to achieve hotels revenue goals.  Ensure colleague has the information, market
    data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.

    ·          Develop and maintain
    relationships with the key clients and outside contacts (example: guests,
    airlines, wholesalers, travel agencies, ad agencies, local community groups) in
    order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food
    and beverage sales, and catering/banqueting services.


    GUEST EXPERIENCE:

    ·          Provide guest with information
    (example: loyalty programs, area attractions, restaurants, facility
    information) to enhance guest experience

    ·          Schedule conventions and/or
    business group activities at the hotels and coordinate with other hotel-level
    departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and
    prospective clients.

    ·          Communicate to appropriate
    departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for
    arriving VIPs, large groups, and other key guests.

    ·          Lead marketing efforts to up
    sell guests on hotels services, offerings, and amenities.

    RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:

    ·          Indentify operational problems
    that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotels sales
    performance and work with appropriate department on solutions.

    ·          Develop awareness and
    reputation of the hotels and the brand in the local community, may serve as the
    hotels representative for media related inquiries.

    ·          Work closely with key business
    leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups within the
    city to ensure constant high profile exposure for the hotels.

    ·          Effectively communicate and
    market aspects of the hotels that are sustainable or “green” and use
    information to gain new business opportunities.

    ·          Work with advertising agencies,
    consulting firms, and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure
    ads represent brand identity.

    SELF MANAGEMENT



    1.     Comply with Hotels Rules and Regulations and
    provisions contained in the Employment Handbook 

    2.     Comply with Company Grooming Standards at all
    times to portray a professional image of self and the hotels.

    3.     Comply with Time and Attendance Policies set
    by the hotels.

    4.     Actively participate in training and
    development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development

    5.     Demonstrate understanding and awareness of
    all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety

    6.     Familiarize yourself with emergency and
    evacuation procedures

    7.     Ensure all security incidents, accidents and
    near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention
    of the Line Manager

    8.     Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of
    Conduct

    9.     Familiarize self with the company values
    (Great Hotels Guests Love) and model desired behaviors (Winning Ways, Room to
    be Yourself) and ways of working (IHG Wheel).

    10.  Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager
    in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
