Job Description

Work towards The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort goals of StarVoice, GEI and financial profitability and all Spa Key Performance Indicators of profit generation, guest satisfaction, staff motivation and the general guest experience.
Develop, source and suggest innovative and cost effective retention initiatives which meet hotel and individual staff needs, aiming at supporting retention and turnover goals and other The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort’s recreation related KPI's.

It is not the intent of this job description to cover all aspects of the position but to highlight the most important areas of responsibility.

Key Functions:
•Responsible for the day to day operations of the Iridium Spa facilities, implementing the Iridium Spa/ St Regis Hotel and Starwood company standards.
•Ensure that the highest standards are adhering to in regards to the guest experience, ensuring a bespoke spa experience for all spa clients.
•To liaise with the Hotel Sales & Marketing team in the preparation and development of marketing plans for the year and co-ordination of all promotional plans and projects for the facility.
•To be responsible for motivating and driving sales and establish targets, which are realistic and achievable.
•To maintain and implement the reporting procedures and control system.
•To maintain and update equipment, product, service and standards as required.
•To deal with problems, enquiries and complaints from Spa clientele.
•To interact professionally with guests, members, and members of staff.
•Develop concept-planning, menu of services, retailing, merchandising, marketing and product development of the Iridium Spa.
•To personally network at all levels with individuals from both inside and outside the company structure for the further development of the Iridium Spa.
•To motivate, encourage and drive the Iridium Spa team, and to maintain the correct level of professional and qualified personnel, overseeing all facilities and activities within the Spa.

Employee Relations
•Ensure that fair disciplinary processes are followed by all s.
•Maintain and enhance the open door policy to all associates providing advice and guidance when needed in regards to their issues or concerns and/or grievances.

•In conjunction with Recruitment team conduct BI
•Ensure all Supervisors and above are BI trained
•Monitor the Spa department LTO on a monthly basis

Third party contracts
•Manage the Department’s contracts

•Ensure 100% compliance in all Audits and do monthly reviews to keep this alive

Performance Management
•Ensure that the administration of the 3-month/5 month review process in the property and ensure
that follow-up for all issues is done in timely manner and results of both follow-up and the initial reviews are communicated to all relevant parties
•Ensure that appropriate training is completed for all Staff Members and Supervisors that administer the PMP process
•Talent Reviews are alive and active and the target audience know why they are so important

•Conduct monthly departmental meetings and ensure that it is minutes
•Conducted weekly documented 121’s with all direct reports
•Share all relevant information with HM in weekly 121’s

•To prepare monthly financial and statistical reports incorporating proposals and recommendations regarding policies and operation of the Iridium Spa; taking into account competition, occupancy and usage, market share and achievement of targets.
•Ensures optimal results in regards to the financial performance of the Iridium Spa through both treatment and product sales.
•Ensure forecasts, stock levels, requisitions, budget, targets etc. are updated
•In conjunction with the HRD discuss your manning wish list for the follow year’s budget
•Work in excel to ensure that all the costs are accurately budgeted for Finance to upload into SAP
•Work with the HM to prepare the budget
•Keep a tight control of costs and payroll
•Come up with exciting proposals of how to achieve revenue targets
•Ensure that the payroll is submitted to finance on the agreed date
•PH and Lieu day tracking is accurate and up to date

•Supervise the Spa team on daily bases
•Monitor the Spa scheduling to ensure productivity
•Train and develop the team and provide support when required
•Ensure all direct reports have an IDP to achieve their goals
•Ensure that effective communication flow is maintained at all times
•Actively participate in the community involvement projects and initiatives together with the hotel’s
management team
•Attend departmental meetings to address any issues or concerns for staff each department on a
quarterly basis

•Create awareness about Starvoice and market the increased scores with regular celebrations
•Coordinate the hotel’s Starvoice action plans with all HOD’s to ensure that it is a living document
•For the Pulse check ensure that the HOD’s have followed up on their agreed actions and escalate with regards to any challenges
•Check and annual Starvoice cycle is maintained and part of the living culture of the hotel.

•Support the Training Department with ensuring that Next Generation Service Culture is
alive and active
•Support the Departmental Trainers to ensure that they are delivering relevant training

Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Hotel Manager


•Already in the role of a Spa Manager for at least 2 years
•Bachelor degree required. Additional Beauty, Nutrition or Health education preferred from a leading and recognized international beauty or spa institute.
•At least 3-5 years of management experience within either the hospitality or spa industry, ideally from a leading international hotel chain.
•Treatment and retail /experience and back ground essential.
