It is one of the most Photographed structures in the world and has been consistently voted the world's most luxurious hotel, with features including in suite check-in and check-out reception desks on every floor, round-the-clock private butlers and use of the hotel's Rolls-Royce fleet. the hotel's 202 luxury suites range from 170 to 780 square meters with a rain shower and a Jacuzzi in each suite, as well as six restaurants and conference and banqueting Venues.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Rang to join the team at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah . The main purpose of the role is to achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and work closely with Front of the House and Back of the House colleagues.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Customer Service is being able to confidently serve customers as per the brand standards. Looks for ways to go above and beyond the customers’ expectations.
  • Has a full understanding and can when asked explain the brand concept, history and vision
  • Has completed basic food hygiene, works in a safe and hygienic manner at all times
  • Communicate any out of stock items, can inform manager or team leader when stocks are running low
  • Communicates to managers any issues immediately
  • Understand and can explain the brand audit and its purpose
  • Actively engages with colleagues and customers at all times
  • Ensures that problems are brought to manager or team leaders attention immediately
  • Is able to make simple decisions that affect their own work or the customers experience in a positive manner
  • Is able to work as part of a team and contribute ideas where necessary
  • Has full knowledge of all products and is able to confidently describe to a customer. Can confidently take an order asking all relevant questions.
  • Ensures that all side duties and cleaning schedules are completed as per daily checklists
  • Actively looks for ways in which they can develop their career. Completes an Individual Development Plan
  • Completes all checklist as required daily , weekly and monthly as required for the outlet
  • Can run food and communicate with the kitchen with confidence
  • Can take a take away order as per the brand standard. Can package an order for take away or home delivery
  • Attends and asks to attend all training as required by the business

    About You

    In order to be considered for this role, you will have an Tertiary Education or Diploma in Food & Beverage Management with a minimum of 1 year of experience at Chef De Rang level working within a fine dining Restaurant.  This is a very "hands on" and demanding position so it is paramount that you work well in a team but are also able to set standards and lead by example at all times.  It is also essential that you have good command of the English language (spoken and written).
