  • The successful candidate is expected to join the Culinary Team of LUX* South Ari Atoll, Maldives by October 2016 onwards.
  • Must have 1-2 years experience in the same capacity/role in a five star hotel/resort. 
  • Must be able to lead, train, manage/supervise our Garde Manger Team - daily operations. 
  • Instructs and trains bakery Team Members on the proper procedures and techniques for the creation of attractive, professional pastry item according to LUX* Hotels & Resorts Brand Standard.
  • Inspects all bakery items upon completion to ensure they have been prepared correctly and attractively according to LUX* Hotels & Resorts Brand Standard.
  • Continually monitors business flow and works with the Sous Chef in scheduling Team Members according to demand for bakeshop goods.
  • Works with Sous Chef to take appropriate action to reduce operating costs without affecting quality of pastries or service.
  • Assists with ordering bakery ingredients from warehouse.
  • Helps Sous Chef develop and research new recipes and creates decorative cakes and ornaments for special events, parties and banquets according to LUX* Hotels & Resorts Brand Standard.
  • Performs duties of the Sous Chef during his/her absence and assists with the with day-to-day supervision of bakery cast members. Must be able to give constructive criticism and be consistent with all documentation.
  • You will be directly reporting to the Sous Chef.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the bakery operation.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
  • Successful candidate that will be hired must be willing to work on Single Status.
