Job Summary:

As Manager of the restaurant, you are required to effectively manage all operational activities within the restaurant, take away and delivery in order to ensure optimum results across all facets of operations, in line with the targets, policies and procedures. Ensure that guests are provided with professional service in a safe and comfortable environment and make sure they have a satisfactory experience. Lead your team to ensure the Restaurant service is at a quality at all times whilst preserving a level of guest privacy.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the FOH & BOH team effectively and ensure Company service standards are upheld
  • Assign opening and closing duties, responsibilities and work stations and monitor wait staff duties through completion
  • Make work schedules for the week
  • Observe and evaluate employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service, and take disciplinary action when required
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards
  • Control inventories of food and equipment and report any shortages to the Purchase department
  • Recommend measures for improving work procedures and performances to increase service quality and enhance job safety
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees
  • Analyze operational problems, such as theft and wastages, and recommend procedures  to alleviate these problems
  • Perform various financial activities such as cash handling, cash sales deposits and petty cash handling
  • Specify and monitor food portions and courses, service time sequences, and work stations and equipment arrangement as per standards
  • Forecast staff, equipment and supply requirements based on business needs and sales trends
  • Compile and balance the cash receipts at the end of the day/shift
  • Develop restaurant objectives, targets, budgets and strategies for daily/monthly sales
  • Ensure employee development, train/ guide/ motivate your team to ensure optimal performance. Plan and conduct on and off the job trainings on monthly basis based on sequence of service, safety regulations, grooming standards etc.
  • Attend and conduct daily briefings ensuring efficient communication with all team members
  • Develop and propose new promotions in order to attract guests to achieve revenue targets
  • Monitor the restaurant`s revenue budgets and maintain control of operational and staff costs
  • Greet and seat customers in a professional, discreet and personalized manner
  • Take accurate orders, provide information and give suggestions about menu items and daily specials
  • Make sure the order is prepared according to the menu or as requested by the customer
  • Ensure that continued service is managed during the course of the meal
  • Check with the customer to ensure that they are enjoying their meal and take action to correct any problems
  • Supervise and participate in cleaning activities all over the restaurant
  • Inspect the kitchen and dining area to make sure it is clean and tables are set properly
  • Make sure the deli displays are properly clean and set up
  • Inspect that all glassware and silverware is properly cleaned and polished
  • Ensure that all food and drinks served are of the best quality and in proper presentation, as per the standards
  • Keep operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as electricity, water, linen, stationery, cleaning materials, cutlery, glassware and other equipment
  • Make sure all Company Policies and Procedures and grooming standards are adhered to at all times
  • Supervise staff attendance and submit weekly attendance reports
  • Make monthly financial reports
  • Recruit staff, if required
  • Handle delivery and take away orders
