Job Title: Host / Hostess

Position Type: Full Time

Reporting To: Reception Manager

Objectives

  • To greet Guests and handle reservations in accordance with our cycle of service; in a professional, efficient and courteous manner;
  • To be fully familiar with every beverage and dish served in the Bar and Restaurant and to provide explanations as requested
  • To treat our guests like Superstars!

Duties

  • To greet Guests and identify their specific reservation;
  • To register Guests, ensuring that the necessary details are obtained, i.e. name in full, address, whether company or private booking, special rate, allowances, VIP, charge details, nationality, passport number, etc;
  • To collect guest’s details for database purposes ;
  • To allocate Guests according to reservations list, ensuring that this is what the guest has booked or requested is provided in line with the Cycle of Service;
  • To seat guest in line with the Cycle of Service;
  • To implement a Guest List upon reaching full capacity;
  • To liaise or alert management of any special allergy or dietary requirements;
  • To be familiar with all aspects of Group Reservations including but not limited to Set Menus, Allergy Requirements, Birthday parties, special functions, etc,..;
  • To operate the phone system and the voicemail system as per guidelines;
  • To be fully trained and have an in depth understanding of our Reservation System ( Quadranet );
  • To ensure cleanliness of all menus daily;
  • To ensure that the par levels set for menus and other printed tools are always checked and that the Venue do not run out of printed materials;
  • To ensure cleanliness and correct set up of Reception Area;
  • To update Reservation list daily and liaise with Management and Kitchen;
  • To ensure that all departments, particularly the restaurant, are notified of V.I.P or particular requests;
  • To complete and prepare seating allocation and briefing sheet daily;
  • To update daily the Lost & Found tracking sheet;
  • To be totally familiar with the composition of all menu items and their allergy risks;
  • At all times to be aware of and practice good customer relations, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other customers;
  • To be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene;
  • To attend meetings and training courses as required;
  • To take part in any fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarization with all exits, including those normally used by customers, as well as fire escapes;
  • To report any suspect package left unattended to the manager on duty;
  • Carry out any other reasonable request asked by the management ​
