Government Sales Manager
To establish, develop and maintain amicable and fruitful relations with existing and potential clients in the market segments and geographic areas assigned to manage to maximize awareness and to sell into the markets to meet the occupancy and revenue requirements of hotel.
To observe the market, to analyse present and identify future consumer trends and purchasing behaviours of clients and segments managed.
To observe existing and upcoming competitors and their marketing/sales strategies and philosophies in order to counter these before they can do harm to existing own business.
To inform the management of any changes in marketing activities that may need required/opportune to meet/increase business for the hotel overall or on specific revenue centers (Rooms, F&B outlets, Banquet and Catering and others).
Develop and manage government sales plans and strategies.
Drive and develop new business for the hotel.
Management and development of existing government accounts for the hotel.
Provide key interface with Operations and other Departments.
Coordinate PR and Marketing opportunities.
Is aware and keeps him/herself constantly updated on latest developments in the hotel, the competition and the market place.
Constantly canvasses the media and market to identify suspect/potential accounts and convert/contract them to producing accounts and secure a maximum share of their business.
Initiates pro-actively tours of the hotel/site inspections and client entertainment in order to secure new business.
Develops and maintains professional, amicable and productive relations with key personnel of all major clients in a pro-active manner to protect them against action of the competition.
Implements all sales action plans related to his/her marketing area as outlined in the marketing plan.
Maintains a high level of exposure in the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone contacts and written communication.
Produces daily, weekly and monthly reports related to own activities and monthly reports on the productivity of managed accounts/market segments, as directed.
Assists in preparing the annual business/marketing plan.
Diploma or Bachelor degree in business and/or marketing or related fields.
Good command of the English and Arabic languages, written and verbal.
Abu Dhabi/UAE experience in a 5 star hotel.
Previous experience as a Government Sales Manager in Abu Dhabi (1-2 Years).
Proven ability to identify, implement and execute sales strategies and account plans.
Pro-actively approach, with strong drive for result and a track record of achievement.
Good knowledge of/experience in working with OPERA Sales & Marketing.
Holds UAE Driving License.
