Event Sales Manager
Responsible for handling local social event opportunities.
Responsible for contracting and closing local events/catering and social opportunities and ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery.
Implement the brand's service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
Manage the sales efforts for the hotel related to local social events and catering business.
Work collaboratively with property Sales and Marketing colleagues as well as other hotel departments to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
Respond to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel. Identify, qualify and solicit new catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their programme/event.
Assist in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals in sales, profit and occupant for the total hotel operation.
Qualification and solicitation of existing and new accounts through personal visits, telephone calls, written correspondence, participation in promotional events, participation in industry and community events, as well as trade shows and travel to industry events and sales calls.
Pro-actively solicit affiliate business associated with citywide events.
Understand the overall market - competitor's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc., and know how to sell against them.
Close the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Design, develop and sell creative catered events.
Maximize revenue by up-selling packages and creative food and beverage offerings.
Manage catering sales revenue and operation budgets, and provide forecasting reports.
Assist with selling, implementation and follow-through of catering promotions.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Interact with customer during meetings or conventions on the property through personal welcome, periodic contact, exit interview for referrals, participation in pre and post-convention meetings.
Ensure successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner.
