  • Developing an annual marketing, PR & communication plan with specific goals and budgets as outlined in the hotel’s marketing plan.
  • Preparing working plans to achieve goals and ensure the Sales & Marketing team, Executive Committee and Head Office are fully briefed on goals and progress.
  • Comparing actual achievements against goals on a regular basis and take corrective action.
  • Assisting the respective Director’s of Sales in the planning of all mailing activities and oversee its execution.
  • Ensuring the Communications Manual is adhered to and used as a training tool.
  • Preparing Monthly Communications Report on a timely basis.
  • Supervising and directing photography for advertising, collaterals and public relations purposes in liaison with the General Manager / Group Director of Sales &Revenue the Advertising Agency and the Marketing/Brand Standards department at Corporate Office.
  • Ensuring the department has a comprehensive master slide library for all advertising, collaterals and public relations activities and regularly sends these slides to Corporate Office for the image library.
  • Supervising operations of the in-house art department.
  • Coordinating and executing publication of the hotel’s newsletter and internal communication.
  • Monitoring activities of competitor hotels and trends within the industry.
  • Participating in monthly forecasting of the department’s expenses.
  • Performing additional related duties as deemed necessary and appropriate to the communication status such as hotel presentation to both internal and external guests, attending and preparing for press conferences
  • Attending any scheduled training sessions and meetings as and when required for personal development and needs of the Company.
  • Maintaining a clean and pleasant appearance and give the impression of a reputable and organized service provider.
  • Ensuring punctuality in attendance and conform to the standards
  • Acting as official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate and respond to all media requests within 24 hours.
  • Compiling and maintaining a comprehensive list of media contacts and take full responsibility for the key media by maintaining and developing close relationships.
  • Preparing press releases for appropriate targeted media, locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Working closely with the Corporate Office in consultation with General Manager on developing story angles.
  • Playing a key role in managing and maintaining community and government relationships as well as VIP handling.
  • Securing opportunities, coordinating and attending hotel sponsored events, and developing targeted partner relationships.
  • Creating and organizing press promotional activities.
  • Participating in the press events/trips organized by both property and Corporate Office as required.
  • Conducting press blitzes when appropriate
  • Ensuring press kit information is comprehensive and kept up-to-date.
  • Working with the General Manager and advertising agency on the rooms and food & beverage tactical advertising campaign’s creative and media plans.
  • Maximizing advertisement budget by ensuring that the resort creative message and media activities are consistent with the corporate identity.
  • Ensuring all local creations has approval from General Manager and is reviewed by Group Director Sales & Revenue in a timely manner before any advertising agency proceeds with artwork.
  • Reviewing the hotel’s market segmentation and other appropriate marketing reports to ensure that the media scheduling matches those segments
  • Maintaining budget control and avoiding duplication in advertising visuals by channeling media placements through the creative agency or with available internal resources.
  • Monitoring and maintaining media schedules as well as prompt settlements of accounts.
  • Being pro-active in the conceptual planning of direct marketing activities, and oversee its execution.
  • Taking an integrated approach to direct marketing & social marketing activities, ensuring a consistent and quality image is projected.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the response rates on the direct marketing to improve and take corrective measures.
  • Coordinating and executing production of all printed materials, with assistance of advertising agency, following the specifications stipulated with the corporate office.
  • Ensuring the hotel information is updated regularly on the Internet.
  • Supervising the production and quality of all displays and temporary signage in the hotel’s public areas.
  • Supervising and budgeting for quality gift items as appropriate, ensuring correct usage of the logo as per company standard and procedures.
  • Supervising the in-house graphic designer and/or print shop.
  • Supervising the creation of the Hotel Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other social media corporate accounts.
  • Responsible for engaging guest comments and requests in line with company standards.
  • Monitoring guest’s trends and social media behavior.
