Lapland (Northern Scandinavia) Competitive Salary
The Santa Safari Group has three trading divisions located at the very remote northern tip of Scandinavia (Lapland): Hotel in Finland (56 units), Hotel in Sweden (30 units) and a Destination Management Company (handling some 10.000 pax during December to April). This role is recruiting a General Manager to oversee and control all three divisions which are all located within 3kms of each other.
This role requires a professional candidate with significant experience in international hotel management, operations, logistics and staff; ideally used to multi property or multi location operations.The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background and be used to operating in very remote and winter very cold environments.
The job requires hands on approach to manage this unique portfolio. You will be actively involved in the day to day running of the business, being the forefront of all guest related interaction. However, you will also have full budgetary and P/L responsibility for the group including the production and maintenance of budgets, stock/asset control and operational reports.
Duties will also extend to cover HR, Corporate Governance, Purchasing and Sales and Marketing.
You will need to be self-motivated, a team player and confident in your abilities to lead. This role requires an open mind, the ability to organize and communicate effectively whilst being able to delegate accordingly. You will need to have an excellent grasp of planning/logistics and be able to make changes/decisions as and when necessary and most of time on the spot and be able to communicate these changes to the team and all suppliers efficiently.
During the peak operational period, currently November to April, the role will involve long working hours with little breaks or time off therefore endurance and the ability to work under pressure while presenting a pleasant demeanor at all times is crucial. You will be on call 24/7 and hence it will be for you to create fully supporting staff structures.
