The Fabulous Role
You will be responsible for recruiting and be involved in, the recruitment for all disciplines of the vessel both UK and Globally; Deck, Engine, Hotel and Catering, at all levels for our cruise ships. This will involve identifying needs through to making and administering offers of employment. You will also assist the HR Team where required to provide HR support to our crew.

You will be responsible for:
•Taking vacancy briefs from on-board and shore-side personnel and working closely with the HR leaders
•Writing adverts and discovering new channels and methods for posting positions.
•Working with key personnel to write job descriptions and hiring criteria
•Working with, building and maintaining relationships with partner agencies and manning agents internationally
•Screening and shortlisting candidates
•Interviewing candidates, both in the UK, overseas and via other methods such as Skype.
•Skills testing candidates
•Selecting candidates
•Assessing current recruitment practices and identifying new methods.
•Assisting the HR Leadership team with other HR related tasks
•Providing ad-hoc HR advice to on-board managers and crew in line with our Collective Bargaining Agreement and HR best practice when required.


You The Brilliant Professional
You will have most likely worked at sea on a cruise liner or in the shipping industry before and are aware of the shipboard structures across all of the disciplines (Deck, Engine, F&B, Housekeeping etc) You will also have previous HR advisory experience, most specifically with strength in the area of recruitment. If you are CIPD qualified (or equivalent) then this is even better. This is an exciting new role, with the opportunity to really make a difference to the way recruitment is currently managed. You will be expected to be experienced enough to identify improvements and look to implement changes to the current recruitment processes, with the plan to be cost reduction and streamlining.

You will be an excellent communicator with real skill at effectively building and maintaining relationships with both shore-based staff and on-board. You should be persuasive in your nature, meaning that you are able to negotiate with ease and confidence and with consistently impressive results. You’ll be expected to maintain existing contacts and develop new ones with manning agencies across Europe and at an International Level.

You should thrive in a busy and demanding environment and feel comfortable when dealing with conflicting priorities and a variety of different tasks. You should be prepared on occasion to travel internationally, and should feel happy doing so independently.
