Membership Marketing & Sales Manager

Hotel Overview:  Fairmont Palm Jumeirah is a world-class property opening on the 1st September 2012 on the iconic Palm Island in Dubai.  The hotel will feature 381 guest rooms and suites with two Fairmont Gold floors.  A total of eight food and beverage outlets on property will offer international dining options including Szechwan cuisine, a Brazilian steak house plus separate cigar and wine bars.  The property will be positioned as a Luxury Hotel joining other internationally branded hotels on the 'island', which will generate tremendous anticipation both in the UAE and worldwide.  In addition, the high regard that the Fairmont brand is afforded in the region will result in very high expectations for flawless service delivery from day-one.


Summary of Responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Director of Communications (with a dotted line to Director of Spa, Director of F&B, and Director of Rooms), responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

  • Manage all activity within the membership marketing and sales department, ensuring all service standards are followed

  • Execute membership marketing plans and programs in conjunction with the Room, Spa and Fitness Sales department to ensure profit growth 

  • Oversee all membership marketing initiatives for the hotel 

  • Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on

  • Recommend membership pricing strategy and packaging strategy for the hotel that will result in the greatest market share

  • Set the yearly budgets and goals for membership sales during the annual business plan process.

  • In conjunction with the Director of Communications plan and oversee the hotels membership advertising and promotion activities, including print, electronic, and direct mail

  • Work with the Cluster Public Relations department and appointed agencies to oversee copywriting, design, layout, and the production of membership promotional materials

  • Follow the annual budget and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible manner

  • Provides direction and monitors ongoing execution and reports program compliance as it pertains to Memberships and Front Line Operations

  • Identifies and implements additional training, motivation or contests as needed

  • Develop membership drive campaigns, maintain membership databases and ensure activity calendar of communication is developed and executed.

  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs

  • Follow departmental policies and procedures

  • Performs additional tasks and/or responsibilities as assigned

  • Follow all safety  policies

  • Other duties as assigned





  • Requires a resourceful self starter with strong management skills, an understanding of the club environment, sales and training concepts, general marketing and understands how to balance
  • Previous leadership experience within marketing required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and other relevant computer applications required 
  • University/College degree in a related discipline required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
