Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts will open its doors in Kolkata in the fourth quarter of 2009. To support our team we are looking for a Chief Engineer.
The main responsibilities and tasks of the Chief Engineer are as listed below, but not limited to these:
• Participation in the pre-opening/opening phases of the hotel and hand over of the building to the Management Company
• Devise and implement maintenance reporting procedures to be used by all departments
• Monitor trends in technology, evaluate possible implementation with the Hotel and disseminate this information to senior management
• Negotiate and establish service contracts based on agreed service levels with selected service providers and contractors against benchmarks
• Compile audits and reports documenting Engineering activities as they relate to maintenance
• Monitoring, recording and graphing of energy to establish benchmarks in reducing energy consumption
• Establish effective business providers, suppliers and contractors
• Ensuring team members’ awareness of energy management within the property
• Contributing to guest satisfaction standards by ensuring technical support
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skill set:
• Certification in an engineering discipline
• Candidates must be experienced Chief Engineers in International 5* hotels
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
• Fluency in English, any other language a plus
• Ability to solve problems under time pressure
