The smallest emirate among the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates lies on the Arabian Gulf coast along with the northern emirates. Its area is estimated at 260 square kilometers . It is bordering Sharjah and only 10 km away from Dubai. Ajman is near to the ports of neighboring Emirates and the international airports of both Sharjah and Dubai. The population has grown considerably in recent years, due to an influx of people from the neighboring states of Dubai, Sharjah and other countries.
Ajman is rich in culture, history and other unforgettable sights. The city of Ajman contains a beautiful old fort at its center, a relic of the old times. Two inland enclaves belong to Ajman emirate. Masfout is an agricultural area located 110 kilometers to the southeast of the city, near Hatta, which features some of the most beautiful yellow-blossoming ‘farfar’ trees in the United Arab Emirates. Manama, the other enclave, is located just north of the main Dhaid – Masafi.
It is ruled by emir Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi. The Crown prince of the Emirate is Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. His directions have led to massive development and a construction boom in Ajman in the recent years.

The distance of Fujairah to Ajman is 113 km. Fujairah is the emirate surrounded with the Hajjar mountains making it the only Emirate of the UAE that is almost totally mountainous. Consequently, Fujairah boasts a higher than average yearly rainfall of the UAE, allowing farmers in the region to produce one crop every year.
